RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHCThe Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).Position summaryMaelstrom (maelstrom-research.org) is a scientific platform based at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI MUHC). The team is specialized in the development of methods and software supporting data documentation, harmonization and integration processes across epidemiological studies. Maelstrom Research also coordinates the generation of harmonized datasets integrating data across national and international cohort studies. The multidisciplinary team, currently composed of 12 members, is looking for someone who will participate in managing multidisciplinary projects and in research and development activities of the platform.Under the supervision of Maelstrom’s director, the selected candidate will perform the following tasks:• Ensure the implementation and coordination of internal, national and international projects,• Participate in Maelstrom’s research and development activities,• Participate in the preparation of grants, scientific papers, and reports.General Duties • Understand and define the needs of external collaborators and work in close collaboration with the technical teams to implement the specific activities of diverse projects,• Following implementation, ensure that the projects deliverables are achieved, and the budgets respected,• Ensure that the efforts of the technical team and relations with external collaborators are optimal during the project life course,• Ensure quality control of the work of the technical teams,• Propose and implement solutions when problems are faced,• Participate in the development of methodological and technical tools useful to the study and variable cataloguing and data harmonization,• Participate in the development and maintenance (with the support of the technical team) of the Maelstrom website.

Education: Master's DegreeField of Study: epidemiology or related fieldOther education considered an asset for this position: Master’s or Ph.D.Work Experience: 5 years
• Excellent French and English, spoken and written,• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,• Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,• Experience in managing and validating data,• Proficiency in using R statistical software would be an asset,• Experience in harmonizing and integrating data would be an asset,• Good organization and time management skills, and attention to detail.
