The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).Position summaryUnder the general supervision of the Manager, Oncology Research for the Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM), the incumbent is responsible for administering and adjusting treatments and medications to research cancer patients while ensuring the successful conduct of clinical research studies.The Centre for Innovative Medicine is located in the Glen site hospital which is a unique center in Canada of 5000m2 dedicated exclusively to clinical research.More information on the CIM: http://rimuhc.ca/web/research-institute-muhc/centre-for-innovative-medicineGeneral Duties• Acts as a resource person to assist in the care of the research patient requiring complex care,• Administers chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments to oncology research patients,• Infuses blood products when necessary,• Evaluates the health status of oncology research patients,• Determines if research patient can continue their treatments,• Works closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure proper care and oversight to the research patient and their families in clinical research trials,• Provides appropriate resources to patients,• Ensures proper research documentation,• Reviews and documents protocol trainings.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or DEC in nursing is required,• Good standing member of the OIIQ,• Minimum 2 years of experience in medical/surgical, ICU or Emergency Room,• Experience in Oncology (hematology and/or solid tumors) administration of cancer treatments is preferred,• Clinical research experience is preferred,• Experience in multicenter project management is an asset,• Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Health Canada Division 5 certifications an asset,• Bilingual: French and English spoken and written,• Solid written and verbal communication skills,• Able to work under minimal supervision,• Self-directed, flexible, organized with a good sense of work ethics.
