Job Description

RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and the Research site Manager the clerical assistant will provide administrative support to the EP research team.


General Duties
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the clerical assistant will:

• Draft, type, prepare and transmit various correspondences and reports and maintains agendas,
• Assist with, prepare and maintain various reports.
•Assist in the preparation and verification of various budgets and manages specific dossiers,
• Receive and distribute incoming calls, emails and mails,
• Be responsible for administrative functions such as photocopying, printing, faxing, courier services, creates and maintains filing system, etc.,
•Create and process of invoices,
• Organize and maintain an efficient and effective filing system,
• Advise the manager of any unusual situations or issues,
• Perform any other administrative duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor

Education / Experience

Education: Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS)

Work Experience: Less than 6 months

Required Skills

• Excellent French and English, spoken and written,
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
• Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,
• Prioritizes work and meet deadlines
• Good organizational and communication skills
• Good judgment in advising the manager of unusual situations or issues
• Excellent knowledge of computer application such as Outlook, Word, excel and Power point

Additional information

Status: Temporary, full time
Pay Scale: $28,665.00 to $46,937.80. Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: Monday to Friday , 8:00 to 16:00
Work Site: Montreal General Hospital
