Job Description

RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
Under the supervision of the directors of the Centre for Global Surgery (CGS), the clinical research/training nurse is responsible for assisting the operational side of CGS including research and training including program evaluation activities.

General Duties
• Participates in the development of local and CGS research activities including but not limited to development of research and training materials, training of partner institutions, oversight of partner research and education activities including conformation with ethics or equivalent committee standards and protocols, appropriate data storage and management,
• Support research and data management and storage,
• Participates and oversees research and training activities related to trauma and acute care surgery capacity building programs and their respective evaluations,
• Coordinates personnel (local and international) including participants, research fellows, administrative assistants, and CGS team members for the research and training activities,
• Communication with partner institutions in program development strategies,
• Supports the development of research and training initiatives including the writing of proposals, content and evaluations. Facilitates all aspects of the activities of the research program including: financial, scientific and administrative,
• Facilitates the implementation of the Program’s research goals through team meetings, internal committees and research seminars,
• Supports administrative responsibilities for the Centre for Global Surgery meetings, conferences, travel and other related logistics.

Education / Experience

• Bachelor in Nursing,
• One (1) year of experience in Clinical Research and education is an asset,
• Bilingual: English and French: spoken and written,
• Independent, flexible, organized and have the ability to work with minimal supervision,
• Ability to work with a dynamic team,
• Basic computer skills are necessary.

Additional information

Status: Part-time or Full-time (preferred)
Pay Scale: To be discussed
Work Shift: from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mondays to Fridays
Work Site: Glen Site, Cedars Cancer Centre and satellite clinics
