RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
CANTRAIN is a national clinical trial training program (CTTP) in response to a call by the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR). Its vision is to offer the best, certified and standardized clinical trials’ training and mentoring program across Canada accompanied by Internships for Trainees in a real-world setting.

General Duties
The incumbent will use adult learning principles and e-Learning instructional strategies to develop, design, implement, and evaluate clinical research education curricula.

The incumbent’s primary role and responsibilities will be to:
● Design comprehensive and engaging modular educational curricula into e-learning modules for the CANTRAIN clinical trial training platform,
● Design interactive knowledge checks and other methods of evaluating student learning for CANTRAIN learning pathways,
● Convert existing educational material (i.e., PowerPoint presentations) into technology-based online and mobile learning formats for the CANTRAIN LMS platform,
● Collaborate with educators, coordinators and subject matter experts across multiple sites to develop, design and evaluate e-Learning modules for adoption by CANTRAIN.

Education / Experience

Education: College degree (technical)
Field of Study: Graphic design, Instructional design, eLearning development, Educational Technology, or related field.

Work Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a similar designer role.

Required Skills

● Creativity and strong artistic flair to craft educational designs and interactions that captivate and inspire learners,
● Possess a keen eye for graphic design and the ability to develop interactive activities, scenarios and videos that ignites curiosity and encourages active learning,
● In-depth knowledge and experience applying e-learning, WCAG, QA and standards,
● Works well within a fast-paced, deadline driven environment to support CANTRAIN objectives,
● Motivated with a strong attention to detail and accuracy,
● Excellent organizational skills.
● Experience with integrating e-learning modules into learning management systems is an asset,
● Well-developed communication skills (written and verbal),
● Knowledge of industry-standard online learning tools is an asset (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, Vyond, Adobe Creative, etc.),
● Knowledge of Learning Management System (LMS) is an asset for the position
● Bilingual English/French is an asset.

Status: Temporary, full time
Pay Scale: $60,860.80 – $113,003.80 Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Work Site: 5252 de Maisonneuve (Hybrid, 2-days in-person and 3-days teleworking)
