RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
Dr. Sanders, the Kappy and Eric M. Flanders Chair of Palliative Care in the Department of Family Medicine, conducts research at the intersection of serious illness, communication, and culture, with the goal of improving the quality of care and experience of those affected by serious and life-limiting illness. This research comprises a host of projects ranging from psychedelic medicine to communications research using virtual reality to health systems level implementation research. We seek a motivated, self-sufficient, and organized individual with strong bilingual oral and written communication skills to support and grow with an innovative and multi-faced research program.

General Duties
• Drafting and management of research ethics protocols (40%),
• Recruitment of study participants (20%),
• Liaise with study collaborators (15%),
• Participation and note taking in weekly research lab meetings (25%),
• Opportunities to participate in drafting and publishing manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals,
• Recruiting and scheduling research participants,
• Following detailed experimental protocols for running research studies,
• Data collection, cleaning, coding, visualization, and analysis,
• Setting up technological resources to support studies, events, and demos,
• Maintaining lab software, hardware, websites, and other technical resources,
• Researching and recommending potential technical and process improvements,
• Basic graphic design (e.g., designing study advertisements),
• Developing and improving documentation for equipment and protocols,
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience

Education: Master's Degree
Field of Study: Psychology, Family Medicine, Computer Science
Other education considered an asset for this position: Interest or experience in use and programming of Virtual Reality and other immersive technologies is an asset.

Work Experience: 0-6 months

Required Skills

• Bilingual (written and spoken English & French),
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
• Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,
• Excellent writing, and organizational skills,
• Strong computer skills, proficiency with MS Office and equivalent Google products,
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment with several people on a variety of projects.

Status: Temporary, full time
Pay Scale: $43,316.00 - $80,425.80 Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: Flexible
Work Site: Jewish General Hospital, Department of Family Medicine, 5858 Chemin de Côte-des-Neiges
