RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
This post is for a Clinical Research Coordinator (full-time) who will work under the supervision of Dr. Nancy Braverman, Department of Medical Genetics. The successful candidate will work primarily on a research project investigating the natural history of peroxisome biogenesis disorders. These are a heterogeneous group of autosomal recessive disorders with a large variation in clinical presentation and disease course.


General Duties

• Participation to the development of a bioregistry: Use of Microsoft Access platform
• Recruitment and consent of patients in our Natural History Study
• Contact patients and their families as needed
• Collection of medical charts of eligible patients
• Data extraction from medical charts
• Database preparation and maintenance, data entry and quality control
• Preparation of reports and applications (e.g., ethics, data requests)
• Coordination of research activities, including communication with study physicians and research collaborators for publication preparation
• Completion of all other connected tasks as assigned by supervisor

Education / Experience

• MSc in Human Genetics, Epidemiology or related health field
• Excellent written and oral communication skills (English and French)
• Ability to perform data analysis independently and to carry out literature searches and reviews
• Ability to communicate with patient caretakers in an efficient and empathetic manner

Additional information

Status: Temporary, full time
Pay Scale: $40,422.20 – $47,000 per annum. Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays to Fridays
Work Site: Research Institute of the MUHC, Block E, Glen site.
